Doug attended college in Minnesota where he played ice hockey before transferring to the University of Denver (DU). He graduated with a BSBA in finance and earned his Juris Doctor from DU in 1984. Lately, he has retired his skates in favor of triathlon and finished five events in 2003.

Doug applies a competitive and individual approach to the practice of law. His tenacity, practicality and problem solving abilities create tailor-made solutions for his clients. Happiest when working "outside the box," Doug quickly identifies the problem and desired result with an eye to connecting these points with the straightest line possible.

Doug is Colorado's only member of the National Automotive Finance Association (NAFA). He is also a member of the NAFA's Legal Affairs Subcommittee and frequently lectures for the association. He is also a collections instructor for the National Business Institute, which provides educational seminars to Colorado attorneys. Doug is the 2003-2004 Colorado editor of CarLaw, a trade publication for the automobile industry.
